The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kandy to Bambarella village, taking over an hour through lush landscapes of the Knuckles Mountain Range. Along the way, we can stop for a delicious breakfast at a nice local shop, setting the tone for an exciting Knuckles Range adventure ahead. From Bambarella, the trek starts with a 7-kilometer ascent to the first of the Five Peaks in the Knuckles Range. Along the way, you'll enjoy panoramic views, visit Knuckles waterfall, and immerse yourself in the untouched beauty of this remarkable mountain range. A village-style parceled lunch will be served at a picturesque spot en route.
After exploring all five peaks, the adventure continues along a 9-kilometer trail to our wilderness campsite. The campsite is strategically located near the Knuckles Mountain Range forest border, offering an authentic wilderness experience. As night falls, set up camp at our designated camping area and relax under a canopy of stars, surrounded by the serene wilderness of the Knuckles Mountain Range. This Knuckles Range camping experience allows you to truly connect with nature in one of Sri Lanka's most pristine environments.
After packing up gear at the campsite, the second day begins with a hike to the spectacular Kotaganga waterfall chain within the Knuckles Mountain Range. This 4-kilometer trail leads to seven majestic waterfalls, each offering unique and breathtaking viewpoints that showcase the natural beauty of the region. The trek continues to Kotaganga Estate and then to the refreshing Natural Pool, where you can enjoy a revitalizing swim after your Knuckles Range adventure.
Near the pool, a local shop offers authentic village-style food, providing a genuine taste of Sri Lankan culinary traditions. After a fulfilling day of exploration through the Knuckles Mountain Range, the journey concludes with a scenic return to Kandy, leaving you with cherished memories of this incredible 2-day Knuckles Range experience that perfectly combines adventure, nature, and cultural immersion.
